New Painting Material Finally Solves White iPhone 4 Problems?

No comments:

A report from Macotakara suggests that a new Japanese developed painting material has finally solved the production problems with the white iPhone 4.

According to iLounge, the report claims that the new material allows for the thickness of the painted layer to be specified prior to application, which apparently results in better yields and fewer defective products. A separate report from July 2010 indicated that Lens Technology, a small Chinese company responsible for transforming fine raw glass into the final iPhone glass panel, was the cause of the white iPhone’s delay. According to that report, the company couldn’t find the right combination of paint thickness and opacity to allow for attachment of the digitizer while keeping the panel the correct color of white, a claim which would appear to substantiate this new report.

The white iPhone 4 recently appeared in AT&T's Online Account Management System and Best Buy's and Vodafone's inventory systems.

Pixelmator Grosses $1 Million on Mac App Store in 20 Days

No comments:

Pixelmator, a Mac OS X image editor, has grossed $1 million on the Mac App Store in 20 days.

I am ecstatic to announce that Pixelmator grossed a gigantic $1 million on the Mac App Store. And that happened in only 20 short days.

What is even better is that the app is getting rave reviews on the Mac App Store (4.5 stars with over 275 ratings on the US store, 5 stars with over 128 ratings in the UK, and 4.5 stars with over 129 ratings in Germany). And, thanks to the Mac App Store, more people than ever are choosing to download Pixelmator.

Such an amazing success feels fantastic. Thank you so much for your enthusiastic support.

Elderly Woman Tries to Smuggle 44 iPhones Into Israel

1 comment:

An elderly woman was caught trying to smuggle 44 iPhones through Israel's Ben-Gurion Airport, according to Haaretz. The woman was in her sixties and returning from a trip London.

Last week's would-be smartphone smuggler was reportedly dressed in a traditional Georgian outfit and walking with difficulty, which drew the attention of customs officials. When they approached the Israeli woman, she claimed she was not feeling well.

They agreed to accompany her, but told her she must first pass through the full-body scanner. The officials were amazed to find that, under all the wrappings of the traditional dress, the woman had hidden no fewer than 44 iPhones in her stockings. She was later released and a decision will be made this week on whether to indict her or to send her before the committee that determines fines.

44 iPhones from the UK would have a value of between $35,400 and $42,500 US depending on the model.

Verizon to Offer $30 Unlimited Data Plan to iPhone Buyers?

No comments:

Verizon will be offering iPhone buyers a $30 unlimited data plan, according to a WSJ report.

The carrier's heir apparent and chief operating officer, Lowell McAdam, told us the news ahead of the company’s meeting with investors.

"I'm not going to shoot myself in the foot," he said. Not offering an unlimited plan would put up a barrier for customers who might otherwise switch from AT&T, he said.

Engadget got a snapshot of the new data packages which can be seen below...

Apple to Introduce Mobile Payments Service Alongside iPhone 5?

No comments:

Apple is preparing to introduce a Near-Field Communication mobile payment service alongside the next iPhone, according to a Bloomberg report.

The services are based on "Near-Field Communication," a technology that can beam and receive information at a distance of up to 4 inches, due to be embedded in the next iteration of the iPhone for AT&T Inc. and the iPad 2, Doherty said. Both products are likely to be introduced this year, he said, citing engineers who are working on hardware for the Apple project.

Apple recently hired Near Field Communications expert Benjamin Vigier as Product Manager of Mobile Commerce.

Kodak Loses Preliminary Step in Case Against Apple

No comments:

Eastman Kodak has lost a U.S. International Trade Commission ruling that could hamper its case against Apple and RIM, according to Bloomberg.

Kodak says it has a patent that covers a feature that can preview low-resolution versions of a moving image while recording still images at a high resolution.

ITC Judge Paul Luckern said Apple's iPhone and RIM's BlackBerry device don't violate Kodak's patent for a camera image-preview feature. The administrative law judge's findings, posted on the Washington-based agency's website today, are subject to review by the six-member commission, which has the power to block imports of products that infringe U.S. patents.

Kodak has responded to the decision saying, "The ALJ's recommendation represents a preliminary step in a process that we are extremely confident will conclude in Kodak's favor," General Counsel Laura G. Quatela said in a statement. "This very same Kodak patent was upheld by a different ALJ at the ITC in our case against LG and Samsung."
