Strong CDMA iPhone Demand Raises Production Estimates

No comments:

Strong demand for the new CDMA iPhone 4 has caused manufacturers to increase their internal shipment estimates, according to a DigiTimes report.

Pegatron originally only forecasted internally to ship about 10 million CDMA iPhones in 2011 , but as demand continues to stay strong, the company has recently increased its internal shipment forecast to 12-15 million units, the sources added.

The CDMA iPhone 4 will be released on February 10th and can be pre-ordered starting on February 3rd.

FBI Files Charges Over AT&T iPad Security Breach

No comments:

The FBI has laid charges against two men who obtained the email addresses of 120,000 iPad owners from AT&T's servers, according to Reuters.

U.S. prosecutors filed criminal charges against two people accused of stealing the email addresses and other personal data of about 120,000 users of Apple Inc's (AAPL.O) iPad tablet computer.

Daniel Spitler and Andrew Auernheimer were each charged with one count of fraud and one count of conspiracy to access a computer without authorization, prosecutors said.

They obtained the data
through a script on AT&T's website which returned an email address when provided with an ICC-ID as part of an HTTP request. By looking at known iPad 3G ICC IDs the group was able to guess a large number of ids.

Its unclear how successful the prosecution will be as these men obtained information publicly available to anyone due to an oversight on AT&T's part.

AirView Turns Your iDevice Into an AirPlay Receiver

No comments:

AirView lets your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch watch an AirPlay stream coming from another iDevice

Use this application to watch AirPlay video streams from another iOS device (iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad running iOS 4.2) on the same local network, or from iTunes.

Just launch AirView, then tap the AirPlay icon on the YouTube media player from another iPhone for example, and the video should start playing on AirView. This works with videos played in iTunes on a Mac or PC too.

Photos are not supported yet.

You can download AirView from the App Store for free.

Two New Ports Found on Latest iPad 2 Cases

No comments:

The latest iPad 2 cases to appear online have cutouts for two new ports, according to AppleInsider and M.I.C Gadget.

"We got a look on the new iPad 2 case, and surprisingly, it features two new holes, one in the upper left (when viewed from the front) and the another in the upper-middle", says
M.I.C Gadget.

However, unlike the previous "alibaba" cases, the newest case design to surface shows a very distinct cutout on the rear upper left corner (a blank area on the current iPad) that appears to be consistent with the size of an SD Card slot. The new case also depicts a cutout on the center of the top edge that appears to be the size of a mini DisplayPort jack, located between the camera hole and the headphone port, reports AppleInsider.

Engadget recently reported that the iPad 2 would feature an SD card slot giving some credence to these reports.

Why do we still believe these stupid companies who waste their time and money guessing what the newest idevice will look like and make the cases ahead of time to be the first to the market with the cases if their guesses turn out to be correct?
