HyperMac Finds New Life!

No comments:

HyperMac is back with a vengeance! After Apple has forced them to stop the production of MagSafe adapters for their popular portible external batteries, HyperMac has been working hard for a new way to use its external battery packs on MacBooks legally and now we see the fruits of there labor... Now there is no way Apple can stop them (even though we usually side with Apple with these kinds of cases) we own  a 100wh HyperMac and love it; being one of the best accessories we have ever purchased for our MacBook/iPhone/iPad and anything that can be charged with a USB cable. Now with there Auto/Airline adapter you will be able to use the HyperMac on a MacBook again!

If anyone from HyperMac see this, we would love to do a giveaway...

Apple Looks to Bring More Voice Recognition to iOS?

No comments:

Apple job listings reveal that the company is looking to pursue further uses for voice recognition in iOS.

9to5Mac notes that Apple is hiring for four positions (1,2,3,4). An iOS Speech Application Engineer, two Speech Recognition Engineers, and a Senior Speech Research Scientist.

Are you looking to contribute to a product that is redefining the smartphone? The iOS Application Frameworks team is looking for an exceptional Speech Engineer. You will work with our team on a wide variety of speech-related development activities. We need a team player – you will be working closely with engineers on the Application Frameworks team as well as other teams at Apple – and we need someone who is comfortable working in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.

Notably, Apple also indicates it would like candidates that have experience in rival software such as "Nuance Recognizer, IBM WebSphere Voice, Google Voice Search, or similar voice search tools."

In April, Apple acquired Siri, a personal assistant for the iPhone that lets you speak to your iPhone and have it perform tasks such as get a taxi, book a table at a good steak house, or see who's playing at Madison Square Garden.

It's possible that Apple may be hiring to build on technology gained from its Siri acquisition.

Apple Will Close Mac Downloads Site When Mac App Store Launches

No comments:

Apple has informed developers that it will be shutting down the Mac Downloads site when the Mac App Store launches on January 6th.

Thank you for making the Mac OS X Download site a great destination with apps that offer users new ways to work, play, learn, and create on their Mac. We recently announced that on January 6, 2011, the Mac App Store will open to users around the world, presenting you with an exciting, new opportunity to reach millions of customers. Since the introduction of the App Store in 2008, we’ve been thrilled with the incredible support from developers and the enthusiastic response from users. Now we’re bringing the revolutionary experience of the App Store to Mac OS X. Because we believe the Mac App Store will be the best destination for users to discover, purchase, and download your apps, we will no longer offer apps on the Mac OS X Downloads site. Instead, beginning January 6, we will be directing users to explore the range of apps available on the Mac App Store. We appreciate your support of the Mac platform and hope you’ll take advantage of this new opportunity to showcase your apps to even more users. To learn how you can offer your apps on the Mac App Store, visit the Apple Developer website at http://developer.apple.com/programs/mac/>.
