Catch Me On iPhone, iPad or Facebook in Real-Time

No comments:

Five Talents and Beyond has announced an upgrade to its real-time location tracking iPhone application - Catchif. The new version features a user-controlled background running mode for both iPhone and iPad (iOS 4.2 required). It gives you both tracking and sharing capability on iPhone or/and iPad in real time globally. Using Catchif is just like remotely watching your friends/families driving on a map, and their driving is not distracted at all.

Without an iPhone or iPad, you can still track your friends and families from Facebook. Catchif is highly integrated with Facebook, from which you can send "Where are you" request and look up your Facebook friends' locations and movements through any web browser with Catchif Facebook plugin.

Shaofeng Yang, the founder of Five Talents and Beyond, Inc., the designer and developer of Catchif said, "Catchif was born to make everybody's life easier, better and safer. It's real time, very accurate and efficient, very personal, intimate and fun."

Do you plan to travel during this holiday season? Are you meeting an old friend or someone new and special? Do you have elderly family who like to walk outside and you always worry about them getting lost? Are your children just grown up and exited to go out without you? Are you getting lost somewhere? Or if in case you are in the situation where you really have a safety concern and need help?

Catchif not only makes your life easier, better, romantic and fun, it's also capable of making it safer for you, your family and friends. A "Catch me if you can" request could potentially be a "Help!" signal with your current location and real time movements without saying a word.

You never need to worry about losing your privacy with Catchif , because you always have full control over who can track you and when you'd like to be tracked. You also have the choice to allow or deny a "Where are you" request, as well as the freedom whether you'd like to track others when you receive a "Catch me if you can" request/invitation, meanwhile, you can send out "Where are you" request or "Catch me if you can" invitation to someone whenever you like. The Silent Mode will make you invisible from any friend whenever you want. A Block List is in place as well if you need to block the location information sent to you.

If a friend you want to track or share your location with does not have Catchif installed, you can easily send him/her the Catchif reference with the Invitation tab on Facebook or a gently touch on the Invite button of iPhone and iPad. Thanks to Cathif's super powerful service, you and your loved ones will never get lost and will always stay close and stay safe, no matter where they are or where you are.

Supported Languages:
* US English and Chinese

Pricing and Availability:
Catchif 1.4 is free and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Social Networking category.

iOS 4.2 Supports New Tech That Reduces Network Congestion

No comments:

Nokia Siemens, one of the world's top suppliers of cellular infrastructure, claims that iOS 4.2 ships with a new technology called network-controlled fast dormancy which better optimizes how the phone connects to the network. Furthermore, Nokia Siemens claims that network-controlled fast dormancy provides better battery life and less unnecessary network utilization.

Nokia discovered the technology in the OS by conducting its own tests and not by working with Apple on implementing it. Nokia Siemens was also quick to point out that it had implemented the technique in all of its smartphones starting earlier this year.

Wait a sec, did nokia say they have implemented something apple created into their devices also while not working with apple, and while testing ios to imitate it's features in it's own os??

Like Facetime But For Whiteboards

No comments:

39 a Miami-based development company, has announced SyncPad 1.0, the first-ever iPad application that allows users to share their drawings on a whiteboard in real-time, from anywhere in the world over the internet.

While many whiteboard apps tried to explore the collaboration between multiple iPads, none of them worked remotely, and each required the users to be a few feet from each other. SyncPad, on the other hand, brings your whiteboard to the cloud, making it easy to share with clients and coworkers. Would you like to share your ideas with a coworker but you are out of town? Don't worry, just create a room with your SyncPad and share the name of the room with your co-worker, who can access it with his SyncPad or with any modern browser by visiting SyncPad online.

"The idea came from a personal need to be able to quickly share ideas and feedback on current projects with our clients," said Davide Di Cillo, founder of 39, Inc. "With SyncPad, now I can quickly import a mockup from my photo library and add my notes while the client is sitting at his desk in another continent. He can also participate as well adding his own notes in real-time."

Features:
* Multiple colors
* Eraser
* Ability to import pictures from your library
* Live sharing connection with another SyncPad, SyncPad Reader or any browser
* Multi-user rooms
* Share via e-mail

Pricing and Availability:
SyncPad 1.0 is $9.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Business category. Di Cillo promised that more features and improvements will be coming soon, with an update already waiting to be approved by Apple.

Steve Jobs Says Third Party AirPlay Support is Coming in 2011

No comments:

Steve Jobs says AirPlay support for third party apps and Safari is likely coming in 2011. This comes via a response to an email from a MacRumors forum member

-----
Hi, I recently updated both my iPhone 4 and iPad to 4.2. I think my favourite feature is airplay. This is seriously amazing and makes sharing content seamless. I just purchased Apple TV and was wondering are you ever going to make airplay video work for videos in safari and 3rd party apps? I hope to get a response. :)
-----

Yep, hope to add these features to Airplay in 2011.

Sent from my iPhone

-----

For those jailbreakers who can't wait for Apple to enable this feature you can install AirVideoEnabler from Cydia.
